Demaris "Dee" Hodges, President Contact Dee Hodges at 410-665-4769 - - -
Dee Hodges, president of the Maryland Taxpayers Association, is a mortgage banker and political activist. She has worked as a banker in California, Virginia, and Maryland. A graduate of the University of Illinois in History and Political Science, Hodges earned a Masters of Science in Finance from the University of Baltimore. She served for a year in Vietnam with the American National Red Cross. Married for 29 years to the late Mack Hodges, an engineer and consultant to the U.S. Marine Corps, she lives in Towson. She has two children - one a biology graduate of the University of Virginia and the other a physics graduate of Texas A&M University - and a married stepson at CNN in Atlanta. Dee has served as President of MTA since September 2002.

April Rose, Vice President for Special Projects
April Rose is a licensed Real Estate Salesperson with a background in mortgage finance. She is also a salesperson for her husband's small business. She and her husband Brian have been married 18 years and they have four children ages 11, 9, 8 and 5. They reside in Westminster, Maryland. April currently serves as the Vice President of the South Carroll Republican Club, and was the immediate past two-term President. She has served the club as Secretary as well. This club has earned the reputation for being the most conservative Republican club in Carroll County. She was appointed to the Carroll County Republican Central Committee in 2004 and in 2006 won re-election to the Committee for a four-year term. Bucking the trend of staying silent during Primary elections, this committee has taken policy positions against tax increases, for tax reductions, and produced the first ever Republican Primary Voter Guide for Carroll County.
Diane L. Mahoney, Secretary

Diane L. Mahoney is the Vice President of Velco Insurance Agency, Inc., the oldest full service elder care insurance agency in the Medicare Supplementary Field. She offers personalized assistance to seniors and their families to make complicated informational choices relating to Medicare and Long-term Care protection.

An active member of National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) since 1979, she served as the Senior Products Chair on the Legislative Council for the NAHU from 1996-2001.

She also has served on the local and state Boards of the Baltimore Association of Health Underwriters (BAHU) and the Maryland Association of Health Underwriters (MAHU). She was the first editor of the AHU newsletter in Maryland.

She is a Past President for both organizations.She was the first recipient of the BAHU Health Underwriter of the Year Award in 1992, was honored with a Special Recognition Award in 1999, and a received the NAHU Distinguished Service Award in June 2002.

Born in Chicago, Ms. Mahoney and has lived in the Baltimore area for forty years. She graduated from the University of Baltimore where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a minor in Education.

She is an active member of the Emerald Isle Club of Baltimore, the O Mahony Society, and the Engineers Club. She has served on the Board of the Baltimore Boys Home Society, helped create the Baltimore Life Underwriters Associations "Food for the Hungry" program, and served as volunteer librarian for a local genealogy society. A popular speaker on genealogy, she is the co-chair of the 2002 O Mahony Society "Fall Get-Together." In 2000, she published Shamrocks and Sauerkraut, Volume I, on her family history, and is a popular genealogy speaker at affairs such as the annual Irish Festival. Since September 2002 she has served as Secretary of MTA .

Robert DeLisle, Treasurer

Robert DeLisle, CFP is the President of Island Financial Services, Inc., an employee benefits provider for Maryland Employees since 1989. He is a consultant to the small employer providing cost effective solutions to insurance and investment needs that attract and retain better employees.

A member of Maryland Association of Health Underwriters and Baltimore Association of Health Underwriters since 1989 and a member of the Financial Planners Association of Maryland since 1993.

He served as officer and treasurer for both MAHU and BHUA from 1992 to 1997 and as a delegate to the National Association of Health Underwriters conventions from 1990 to 1998 and was awarded the Health Underwriter of the Year in 1998 by the Maryland Association Health Underwriters.

Born and raised in Baltimore County, Bob received his B.S. in Education from Towson University and his CFP from the College of Financial Planning in Boulder, Colorado.

He is very involved in the community serving as Immediate Past President of the Rotary Club of Baltimore, Assistant Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 124 in Carney, Maryland and is the Finance Chair of St Matthew's Church in Northeast Baltimore City and can often be seen and heard in community theaters and orchestras throughout the Baltimore Metropolitan area. Since September 2002 he has served as Treasurer of MTA.
