THE MARYLAND TAXPAYERS ASSOCIATION, INC.
October 31, 2007

Dear Maryland Taxpayer Advocate:

We are in a long fight against the special interests who want to raise Maryland's taxes. Yet prospects are hopeful for defeating some of the taxing and big-government measures in the current special session.

But the voices who push for higher taxes, and bigger state and local government are well bankrolled, and will be back again in the regular sessions of the General Assembly marketing their schemes.

One way to help defeat these special interests and their schemes is to get your delegate and state senator to sign Maryland's no-new-taxes pledge. This is a binding pledge as long as that delegate or state senator holds office - - - it is not just an ephemeral promise only for the special session.

Click below for a copy of the Maryland no-new-taxes pledge. Fax or email it to your delegate and state senator. If your legislator is already a signer, thank that delegate or state senator. If your state legislators are not signers, ask them to sign.

BE SURE THAT YOUR DELEGATE AND STATE SENATOR
HAVE SIGNED THE MARYLAND NO-NEW TAXES PLEDGE.

If your delegate or state senator won't respond or refuses to sign, let MTA know together with the details of the refusal. We shall follow up through our website.

Please stay on the case of your legislators in Annapolis. The tax-hikers among them are counting on your protests fading away.

Check our website frequently for special session developments.

Best Wishes.
