Joyce E. Thomann
JOYCE E. THOMANN is long-time conservative actvist -- working on the national, state, and community levels. She did constituency work in the Reagan White House Office of Public Liaison.She has also served at the Federal Election Commission as Executive and Research Assistant to Commissioner Joan D. Aikens. She earlier served as Legislative Secretary to Senator Gordon L. Allott (R-CO) and also in the Defense Intelligence Agency. As Corporate Secretary at the Heritage Foundation, she worked closely with major contributors, the Foundation President, and the Board of Directors on policy and financial matters. Instrumental in the growth of this leading conservative think tank, she negotiated the purchase of the first Heritage Foundation owned building. Joyce is currently active in Maryland political and community affairs. Since 2002, she has served as Legislative Chairman and Board Member, Republican Women of Anne Arundel County. She has been a Chief Election Judge, a member of the Anne Arundel County Board of Election Supervisors, President of the Annapolis Chorale, and a member of the 6th District Anne Arundel County Council Transportation Committee. She is a member of the vestry of St. Charles the Martyr Anglican Church in Crownsville. She organized Annapolis-Washington, D.C. commuters in the early 1980s and worked with the locally owned and operated Dillon Bus company to build the commuter bus service now in place. Joyce also has experience in the representation and advocacy arena, having served almost a decade with Berman and Compmany, Inc., which provides Washington, D.C. representation for major resturant chains.
Joyce's husband Charles Thomann is a U.S. Army Officer who is now a public school teacher.
